 eBay is great for shopping an item or selling your wares. While buying on eBay is free; sellers are charged for various services, many of which are optional. Since October of 1999, new sellers are required to keep a credit card number on file for monthly billing. Buying on eBay is simple. Find a product you like and bid on it.

Buying and selling on eBay is fun and easy and just like the commercial says you can get anything you want on eBay. Buying on eBay is free but sellers have to pay a basic listing or ‘insertion’ fee plus a commission (starting at 5.25 percent) based on the final selling price. Buying on eBay is safer now than it ever was. A proper charge back cannot be beat.

Buying on eBay is fun for both newbies, who are just getting started, and seasoned eBay buyers alike. Being new to eBay though, you might initially find yourself losing out those auctions as a buyer, and wondering what the seasoned buyers are up-to.

If you enter your maximum bid in the first instance you can forget about the auction until it ends. However, on the downside bidding early on an item, unfortunately can drive up the auction price as it shows there is an interest in the item. Bids attract bids and low prices attract bids! PayPal is actually owned by eBay and allows you to pay for your item instantly with a credit card or instant transfer from your bank account. It is very easy to use and you can usually just follow the instructions from your winning email that eBay sends to you in order to get started. PayPal is free to join. Your financial details are never shared with the seller and it allows you to send payment immediately.

Also PayPal allows you to accept buyers’ credit card and electronic check payments online. To keep eBay a safe place for both buyers and sellers, sellers who register after January 17, 2007 are required to offer either PayPal or a merchant account credit card as an accepted payment method for their items.

Everyone has stuff they can sell on eBay. But while buying on eBay is easy and pretty straight forward, selling on eBay takes a little more effort, creativity, and having some experience in marketing and auctions will take you a long long way. Keep in mind, every second of every day, eBay transacts $700 in new business. In 2007, eBay members transacted $14.87 billion in sales in 27 international markets, including the United States.

Online Auction Sites Can Bring You Cash Fast

 What you can do is sell things online on an online auction site.

So many people are viewing these sites every day, so it is an easy audience for you. You could be making some money within a few days. Think about all the things around your house you no longer use. You could literally be sitting on a gold mine. As they say ‘one persons’ junk is another person’s treasure is so true when it comes to online auction websites.

That old fridge downstairs will get some good dollars online. Or even the old couch or cupboards that you no longer use. 5 Simple Steps to Deal With EBay’s Non Paying Bidders

 What happens if a winning bidder fails to respond to your messages whether through personal email or eBay’s message system?

Be calm, don’t panic, and don’t assume the worst. There are a few reasons why this could happen. Maybe he is out of town, going for a vacation with his family, sick or admitted to hospital.

Step 1: If he doesn’t respond after 3 days he won the bid, send him an invoice to remind him to pay. Usually winning bidder will get a notification from eBay the moment he won. This invoice is an extra reminder to him.

Please don’t assume, accuse or threaten him, don’t say anything, just send him the invoice.

Step 2: If he doesn’t respond to your invoice after 3 days, send another invoice to remind him again.

This time include a message, “I have sent you two invoices and I haven’t heard from you yet. And there are other buyers who interested to purchase the product that you have won. If payment is not made within 3 days, your item will be relisted to eBay. I am going to file an unpaid dispute too.”

Step 3: If he fails to respond again after your second invoice, is time to take action. File an unpaid dispute against him. eBay will send an email message to both parties with address and phone number.

Send another message to him, “Since you didn’t respond, I have no choice but to file an unpaid dispute to eBay, seven days will be given to make the payment. Please take note a few unpaid dispute will cause your eBay account to be suspended.”

Most of the time, they will start to pay because now eBay is watching them.

Step 4: After seven days you have file your dispute, he still refuse to pay. You can close the dispute and get back your final value fee.

Step 5: Keep a record of non paying bidders; you don’t want to deal with them anymore in the future. You can block them from bidding your auction in the future. This will save you lots of time and headache.

Although non paying bidders will annoys you most of time, but to be a professional eBay seller you need to stay calm and deal with this professionally. Don’t send threaten email or angry words to them.
